I've got it on a manual Passat (called auto hold on that car) and works the same way on the Golf, except on the Passat you can switch it on and off. All it does is use the ABS unit to hold the hydraulic line pressure to the brakes after you've come to a stop. When you go to pull away a switch on the clutch tells the ABS computer to release the line pressure in a controlled way, the brakes release and away you go.

It's just a convenience thing, useful but ultimately unnecessary in the same way DSG is.

Hill hold
This is similar to autohold, but only keeps the car at a halt for approximately two seconds before it is released. This features on cars with traditional handbrakes.

As frog said i've got it on my works transit, can't tell you HOW it works just how it feels, when you stop on a slope using the foot brake with the clutch in and in gear, when you take your foot off the brake it still feels like the brakes are on for about 2 seconds after so you don't role back, it doesn't stop you pulling away quickly, it's quite a good feature but not really necessary if your good with the handbrake! :smiley: i've no idea how the brakes stay on without your foot on the pedal as i'm no mechanic so don't know if it would be retrofitable (if thats a real word).

Information of changes is corect. My dealer contact me today with the information of led.
My GTI is production 22 / 2010.
Dealer informed me about the price, of course some extra money, but for the moment ?
Story is from Croatia / Europe.


PS - UK forums are very good with plenty of informations.
