Sorry for the stupidity of myself but week 22?  Is that build week 22 of 2010 or 2011?  Just with the title of the post being "Model Year Changes 2011" I'm getting a bit confused....

Cheers p3asa

Better get onto the dealer to see what build week I have.
The first week quoted was 24th May (build week 21?) however he admitted that this would be guaranteed to be pushed out.
Looking pretty good for me

evo1986, do you work for VW??

Evo,

Do you know if the new PQ500 7-speed DSG box will be fitted to the GTI, GTD and R models. (It has already been announced for the Audi TT-RS, which has too much torque for any existing DSG box to handle.)
Golf R - almost on order - 5-door, DSG, Rising Blue, leather, 19" alloys, RNS510 with Dynaudio, ACC, Sunroof, Parking camera and sensors, luxury pack and cruise control.

Coincidence?

Was about to phone my dealer to ask about an update on the build week and he phoned me!
Build week at week 22 at the moment but this could go back yet again
He couldn't confirm whether it would come with the changes and won't know until the car has been built.

Evo, maybe you know more?
Build week 22.  Is that a definitive cut off date for the changes.  Do some continue to be built with the pre-change detail after this date?
Knowing my luck, mines will be the last to roll off the line without the LED's!!

I have no idea about a new dsg gearbox going in the gti/gtd/r etc of course if I get a sniff of it happening you guys will know. They are putting the 7spd dsg in the tiguan as of week 22 aswell which will have the 2.0 tsi 170/200ps and 140 tdi ps.

I would probably say the same about your build of week 22 best thing is probably speak to VW customer services there is a reason it has gone to week 22 I guess.

It seems a welcome change of tack that VW are adding things to the MY revisions, not removing things ala the mk5 ...

Evo,

I think you'll find that the 7-speed DSG is going into the GTI, GTD and R, VW just hasn't confirmed when. I had heard it was May, which seems to align with reports of other Week 22 mods. Given how new the R is, perhaps they've decided to wait until it has been out a bit. Whenever the new DSG box comes, it should deliver even better economy for hi-speed motorway cruising.

One other thing...

VW told me in January that they were working on on an upgraded OEM phone unit for the RNS510. This will enable a wider range of smart phones to work with it better.

Where have you got this information from for certain? I would rather state the facts and this is not the case yet, I am sure it will be but to say it is is not true yet anyway
