dodgy oil light oil light
« on: 29 April 2010, 09:29 »
hi guys just a quick one

i have a 1.6 carb driver. and i have noticed that since it has been serviced, when the car is up to temperature, and
i have put the manual choke all the way back in, after about 10 mins, every time i stop the car, the oil light starts
to flicker, which didnt bother me too much, because i regularly check oil levels etc. but it has started to flash
properly every time i stop the car.

im guessing the sender is probably gone past its 20 year use by date, anybody think of anything else that
may cause it to do the above?

many thanks
cory

this light is controlled by the brown or blue sensor on the side of the head, with a blue wire. Start by checkign the sensor & wire, but this could mean you really do have low oil pressure.  what oil did you use in the service?
