oks i have looked and used the search button but i cant find the answers i want for my golf, i can find info for the more powerful GT TDi's but not my 2000 TDi (AGR) just want to know:-

1. What oil do i need i.e Full/semi synthetic & best place to get it. Links would be good

2. Because its in the low end of the power range it not relay worth getting some super expensive oil is it ?

3. how much do i need to fill it when i drop the old oil ?

4. I drive mainly motorway miles what's the best oil intervals for me long, short . .  how many miles till i need to replace it ?

5. What's the best way to do my oil change ? on ramps etc.

Thanks in advance

get the VW Quantum / Platinum stuff from your local dealer - about the cheapest oil and also amongst the best

You'll need a 5 litre tub of it but more than likely you'll only drain about 4.5 litres out

Always change the oil every 10,000 miles

Jack and axle stand is fine

is it best to run the engine for a bit first so the oil is more fuild and comes out easier? [I ve always taken my cars to the garage for a service but times are hard and trying to do it all my self  ] so sorry if a stupid question. any advice would be gratefully taken  :nerd:

Yeah let it idle for a couple of minutes so it warms up a little bit but not enough that you burn you hand when you remove the sump plug!

Don't forget to pick up a new sump plug and washer when you get the oil and most importantly remember the oil filter too!!  I also change the fuel filter at the same time

I ve had a slump plug orderd and fuel filter from europarts but haven't turned up as of yet i was at work when delivered  :undecided: . Got a oil filter sorted last week just need oil & a new pollen filter.
Would a fuel or oil additive be helpful for the engine ?
Thanks Rhyso
