« on: 27 April 2010, 12:47 »
Whats the silver bit in the picture pretty sure that wasnt as visible as now.  My steering sort of creaks when doing a 3 pointer is it related or am i worrying about nothing about the silver bit near the steering wheel?

*new to cars if its an obvious answer so bear with me*

Airbag slip ring I think.  the noise could just be a bit of crud buildup in the horn contact?

this shouldn't be visible, its pushes inside the back of the steering wheel, the only way to sort it out is to take the steering wheel off. There is a little metal clip/pin that needs to be pushed with a screwdriver to push it on so it sits flush with the back of the steering wheel. careful when u take it off cos the spring inside will uncoil and its a pain to get it in properly.
