The whole mirror design is done by a drunk.....yesterday evening ...they would not flip open...so I had to switch again with ignition and flimsy mirror switch....a bit irritating...and scary that you maybe have to drive home in the blind....

I have discovered when this can happen.
If you close the mirrors when the Lt mirror is in the 'dipped parking mode', (even though when 'closed' it re-aligns itself), then when you come back to the car after sometime to unflip the mirrors, nothing happens!
So, get the mirror undipped by twirling the little knob to the central position, come out of reverse, close the mirrors, switch ignition off and it will never happen again! Voila!

UNDIP BEFORE YOU FLIP!

What a PITA!

^^^^^ Not in my case last night.

Drove into a space with the wing mirrors in the O position. Folded them shut. Came back to the car and no amount of twiddling with the switch would open them again. I had to reverse out without them which was dangerous if you ask me.

Fortunatly I have (touches wood) no issues with them.  The only one being I folded them in a parking space and then couldn't look in them to open the door without getting the door taken off by passing traffic.  What a numpty.

Right... the first step is going to be getting the door panel off so I can have a look behind the switch and see what sort of signal it needs.
Any ideas on how to get the door panel off?!
I bet its all clipped on - I'll need to order any tools required to get them off without breaking anything!!

OMG No!
Can't have that.
Just do it ASAP!
But please be careful as pulling door trim off can lead to a disaster.

Maybe like amw1 said it was happening in my case...
Anyway I'll give it a month ...if not..... then I will stop using this feature

I wonder if I can flip them back by hand (more than once ) in a worse case scenario....
