im fine at 20-25mm so it should be ok for you too, just depends on how slow you take the bumps or how big the bumps are.

Measure the bumps with a ruler then measure your bumper height then take away the amount you are lowering the car and this will tell you if you are likely to encounter any problems.

Ive mine lowerd on eibach pro springs! transformed the handling, and looks great on 18"s! the car now sits 40mm lower.

Theres loads of speed bumps around here, and ive had no probs rubbing etc, just take them at sensible speeds

Yeah , i know hate those street bumps . I hope once my gti is lowered to 30mm i won't have any problems with those speed bumps. It's already breaking my heart everytime i roll over a pot hole

Anyone got any picture of a 20mm and a 30mm lowered golf mk5 gti (sideways) ? If yes please post them here so I can see the differences. Would help me make a decision.

Yeah +1 on the 20mm + 30mm pics please.

Also, do ED30s or R32s sit any lower than standard GTIs?

i have H&R springs on mine and no problems at all with speed bumps, the handling is improved and to me the ride feels no harsher, im considering coilovers for better handling but accept the ride will be harsher.
