I know, I think you should ditch the 205's because they're WAY too wide for 6.5's

just want to  , no got 4 2054 5 16 tyres at home doing nothing so want to use them! dont mk3 rx run 215?

The wheels I put on are 6.5"s which came with 205's. I had to go down to 195's because they were rubbing on the shocks. Look much better on the 195's too

standard gti's where 205, but then later ones came out with 195 tyres 
myself and most people use toyo T1R's 195/50/15

Wrong way round...
Early GTIs were 195s, later 205s.
Annis 216/40/16...

and a 205 wide tyre is perfect for a 6.5" rim.
