Anniversary Wheels to black RS4's or RS8's
« on: 22 April 2010, 17:35 »
I've got some 18inch anni wheels and where the previous owner had the car off the road for soo long, they've lost some paint and need a refurb...purely cosmetic but it is needed....I've been quoted £260 get them redone but...I've been offered £400 cash for them by someone & was thinking of replacing them with some black RS4 wheels or a pair of new rs6 style wheels....both would be 18's again...

the 3rd image is the wheels I'd be looking at replacing them with..

I may be mad doing this but due to other financial commitments, i don't have the money to get them refurbed for another few months!

Am I mad???? or is this a good deal...

you should be able to get a set of wheels refurbed and powder coated for £200.

The new option look nice but again, if they havent been laquered properly with at least 4-5 coats then you may end up with the new wheels looking the same before long.

I think you should stick with what you have and get them refurbed

Thinking of getting mine redone, Currently in Black Chrome but the more I see the Aeromax finish the more I want it as it's the closest I've seen to the original finish.

At Toyota (where I work) the new Urban Cruisers and IQ's come with a nice chrome finish wheel. I questioned our bodyshop about refinishing wheels to that finish but they said they aren't able to at the moment, or to quote "we can't even get close to it".

Black chrome is nice, but I'm just finding it too dark a finish, looking for something with a bit more shine and close to OE. Looked at Hi-Power Silver finish at The Wheel Specialist who did my wheels last time, which looks nice. Just need to to decide on which finish to have
