It will do it automatically when you insert it.
You'll find that you won't be able to eject it for about an hour after inserting it whilst it copies over.
Once its done - thats it!

Thanks All, all is now working from HDD no need for disc, Got another Question for anyone, how do you get to show traffic cameras on the maps, looked in the POI options can see all-sorts of optional displays but NO option for traffic cameras. the disc i have installed is a genuine VW V6 DVD map disc.

Camera locations aren't included on the OEM map.

Couple of options, either DIY - see my guide here - http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,2092.0.html

Or PM someone like me or MortyGT140 to send you an updated disc

Nice guide Steve... I'll maybe have a go at that later!
What format should I be downloading the POI database as?  I've found a free site - but it asks me if I want TomTom, Garmin, NavMan or Magellan.

As GTD-Smurf has said in another topic - do you have the icons for the speed cameras etc that you'd be prepared to upload?

I think TomTom OV2 format would be OK

My icons are available to download via a link at the end of my guide
