Following the talk - the GTI has now gone
« on: 20 April 2010, 17:54 »
As per suggestions/threats on an earlier thread, i have indeed departed with my now someone elses GTI.

If you're interested - i got 22k against a trade in of a Cayman at an approved dealer, which i thought was pretty damn good saying i only paid just over 23k for it 7months ago!  And apparently 'Porsche don't do discounts...' Just checked JCT600 website on it's on for £22,995. Great buy - only 5k on clock. showroom condition. well apart from the rattles, which i was very disappointed in.. not good for a 20k + car.

Anyway, the Cayman. It's awesome. Unfair to compare against the Golf. But if you don't need extra seats + big boot like me, for a new specc'd up GTI against 2yr old Cayman (i.e. similiar cost) - there is no comparison - speed, handling, sound, enjoyment...all fantastic! (plus, no  rattles)

Bye, bye Disco. Sorry to lose you.
They say a 'Golf is for life' and a 'Porsche is for pricks' (unlike you of course!).
Enjoy your Cayman or as some call it Gayman! Fabulous car and in another league.
All the best.

dude my bro just changed his mark 2 audi tt for a 6 month old demo boxster.  looks the business!  yep 2 seats but way better than a gti - thats if you're single....
only 2000 on the clock too, damn 10 grand cheaper than it would be new.  i'd say thats a bargain.  porsche dealers were awesome (newcastle)  lots of things discounted like tracker, free scale models....
etc...
incidently 22grand looks like good business.  i may have a think about that- my gti has been thru a crash- back as new but aint the same........
aint jct600 in newcastle?

I might go and get myself one of those too. Beautiful?

PS: Probably get a Gayman instead, in a different colour and definitely with different wheels!
