Right, time has come to spend some money and get the rear done...

I have been toting with smoothing the original lower valance and painting it put retaiig the lower inner valance as matt plastic. Question is, how good is the paint on these bumpers as they secrete a additive that helps keep em blacker don't they?

The alternative was using the lower valance from and ED30 with Gti lower valance insert but unsure it's direct fit?

The ed30 lower bumper is one piece and cannot be seperated but is i a direct replacement and fit for the complete black plastic on the standard gti.  Not cheap though

Hi mate,

Mines the standard bumper, flattened back, sprayed red (in my case) then the infill was masked and sprayed satin black. No idea on price as it was done with a load of other bits aswell.

Eventually when I get back into my car (lost interest in it a bit at the moment) i'm going to change the colour of the infill again!

ED30 rear @ £240 + paint is a touch on the pricey side, although I do like the raised bit around the exhaust

Thanks :)

Check eBay, there are a couple for sale there also scan the classified section here. Someone recently wanted £250 for one though.
Thanks :)

Cheers fella...no signs of flaking on yours then? That was the only concern... I thought you could split the lower inner tho and leave true OEM?

Still not sure on the ED30, ESP as I want to keep the front splitter and skirts OEM and not colour coded.

What colour you thinking for your iner?

No flaking if done correctly. Flattened back completely, high build primer etc Looks like it rolled out the factory like it to be honest.

There is 2 parts to the rear bumper, upper and lower half. The recess which I have had painted is not removable.

Thinking of going dark grey/anthrecite on the rear, grill and lower splitter with matching wheels similar to the new audi S4... Need money, new wheels then more money first though and considering I havent driven it for months it may take a while  :embarassed:

Yes mate, just don't get time to drive it!

Misses use's it for work, i've got a van through the day, by the time I come home I don't need to drive it, weekends i'm normally doing other things, or fishing and I ain't putting rods etc in it and leaving it in the middle of no where so take the van!

Weathers good so will give it a wash and hoover out this weekend, that should see me interested in it again!
