Remaps choices?????
« on: 19 April 2010, 13:44 »
Hi guys & gals

After reading the sticky on remapping ive decided to take the plunge.

Trouble is ive had 5 or 6 quotes and they are all different. The cheepest being £200 and the most expensive almost £500.

All are offering roughly the same BHP increse between 230-250ish. but who do i choose? the cheapest is the obvious one but do you get what you pay for? is it too cheap if you  know what i mean? :undecided:

Unfortunately i dont know anyone that has had there car (any make or model) done, so i have nothing to go on. Any recomendations for company's in the Leeds/Bradford/wakey area?

Has anyone heard of the following companies
Well lane turbos
RS TUNING
F&R Tuning
Re map science

Help & thank you in advance  :undecided:

Most people seem to opt for the more expensive option of going Revo or Bluefin.

I had my MK5 done by R-Tech who are cheaper as they dont have all the overheads of the bigger companies. I've had it on my car for over a year with no problems. They mainly do 1.8Ts but are more than capable of doing the 2.0T. I suggest giving them a call and having a look on their website, they did a great job and offer excellent aftercare service (just ask the MK4 boys).

Note this is at the wheel. Car ran 242bhp and 262lb/ft. Also note the smoothness of the map.

They offer a mobile service and can remap the car at your location

Hope this helps. Good luck. Remap transforms the MK5 into a real tool.

Ive just give them a call

And i'm pleasantly suprised by the price. They are a fair bit cheaper than some quote's i've had from lesser known company's, and they'll come oop north to do it. Bonous!

Just got to run it by her who must be obayed cos we've got a little one on the way. I'll tell her it will get us to the hospital quicker

I'll let you know how i get on

Cheers Alan

You dont have any other mates that want a remap do you? As you can see from the photo I got mine done with 2 other members from this forum and got a bit of a discount as it was a group purchase, I think they take off the travel cost or something along those lines.

Dont quote me on this but you would need to speak to them.
