Claying for beginners!
« on: 19 April 2010, 09:41 »
Ok, so I want to clay my car, but I have never done it so I have a few maybe stupid questions.
Where can I get it from rather cheap? As im skint atm.
How long does it take to do the whole car?
Is it worth it?
How often should I do it?
I think it looks fantastic when its done!

You can get Megs Clay starter kit from Ebay @ £15.00
It should take a couple of hours to do (very therapeutic)
You only need to do it about 2-3 times a year
Theres plenty of videos on Youtube to show you how its done mate, and in the Stickys on here

Hope that helps!!

Try the Bilt Hamber clay which is good value as you use water as a lube.

Cut the clay into small chunks - that way if you drop it, you only need to replace it with a small piece.

You will need to polish and wax your car afterwards.

Another good cheap clay is the ValetPro version:

As above, Dodo Juice Born Slippy is the best clay lubrication out there.

Another vote for Bilt Hmaber clay, you can easily cut the bar into 4 and needing only water as lube must make it the most cost effective clay on the market
