Damage to rear bumper
« on: 17 April 2010, 20:08 »
How this happened I don't know.
Was fine this morning, I am sure.
Then when I went to the car just now, I noticed it.
So I have obtained 2 bits of damage on my rear bumper today, one around the numberplate housing which I have touched up and now this on the upper part of vinyl section.
I wonder if I can fix it with grey vinyl repair paint or should I get a professional to look at it?
Pretty furious.

Theres nothing worse than getting damage to a car that you didn't do yourself.  At least if you do it, you can feel angry at yourself.  I hate it when other people do it and don't own up.

I'm struggling to make out which part of the car that is your showing me.  I know you mention rear bumper... but ? ? ? ?

It is the top bit of the rear diffuser which is made of dark grey plastic. It runs all along the bumper.
I am sure it was not there this morning when I was having the car washed which BTW they did a crap job of. Had to do it all over again myself. First time for me. Must love Wolfgang!

Off to Hellfords tomorrow to get a vinyl repair kit. Have used this before with some good results.
A sleepless night for me. No, I'll take a Nytol!

How have you left the fitting of the FISCON microphone? Is it on the 'A' pillar now?

Its still in the light for the time being.  I'm probably going to order the other one and give it a try - because like you said - I may spend the next 3 years wishing I'd tried it
Its a pain in the ass to move it, so I'll probably just leave it there until the new one arrives.  I rarely use the phone apart from 30 second calls... so I'll just have to speak up for a week or two!

Is that the bit where the exhausts sit in?

Yes that is it. It is the uppermost part above and slightly to the right of the number plate. Hope I can improve on the little eyesore.

I am glad you are going to give it another go. Really impressed with your photgraphy. Fingers crossed it will work out. When do you think you will get the other microphone?

Soon be my turn to get the RNS 510 + FISCON fitted. What fun!

Saturday was an eventful day.

I'm sorry for your damage, but that doesn't look too bad.  Come live in Sicily for awhile and you'll know what I mean.
