The paint supplier should have chips and be able to match it.

i have checked the sticker in the boot and is says L90E. thats all. i thought that would be all i needed. the supplier told me it is normally number one but i didnt want to risk it.

whould there be any numbers or letters after it. the sticker is not in great condition, there may be two or more characters after it i will have to try and see what they are with out damaging it too much  :embarassed:

Your paint man is telling you that there are 5 shades of L90E if your confident that your Petrol filler cap is the same colour as the rest of the car, polish it, remove it, and take it to your paint man, he can the cross reference L90E with the 5 different shaded colour chips, No1 shade of Alpine white, was always a good match.
Your paint code only tells you the name of the colour, and not the shade!
