In case anyone hadn't picked up on it, mine's called Prospero, continuing a theme of cars called after characters from The Tempest (the first one, a Fiesta, was Miranda - she who is worthy to be admired).

Rolfe.

Rupert it is. Great name.
Mention him in your Signature or he will feel unloved.
You have been ripping him to shreds in the last few days so some TLC is very necessary!

I was always wary of giving cars names. It is after all just a car.

Having said that, I do think cars have personalities. Being easy going, or temperamental. Expensive tastes or cheap 'n' cheerful. Likes the outdoors or prefers indoor activites. Light and athletic or heavy and lazy. You can apply all these traits to cars.

So far with mine, all is well. The relationship I have with it at the moment is still the sort of 'honeymoon' stage. I'm having lots of fun with it, but there are a few things with it I'm very confused about, especially the way the keyfob functions. For instance to open all the doors I have to double-press the open button, whilst on my old car I was just used to pressing the button once. And I've discovered the boot release will unlock the door, but as soon as the door is closed it sounds like it automatically locks itself! OMG I could lock the keys inside accidentally. I'd be royally phooked if I couldn't access my spare key. This to me gives me that feeling of a bit like being introduced to a new colleague at work - you know what they are capable of, but if they fh00k summat up, you don't know how much by!

And I would say the GTI has a 'male' personality to it, that's just my own experience. Having said that if you compare the GTI with the R, the GTI would surely be the girly one. So I guess my GTI has to be a girl. Damn.... I've only just realised I bought a girly car...

and if I were to pick a name for mine, it would surely be "Six-Penalty-Points".
