I always try the dealer first, as sometimes I am pleasantly surprised that firsty they can actually still get the part, and secondly that it's not always that expensive. Although, as I've recently posted on another thread, they seem to charge a huge premium on Mk2 16v parts over the Mk2 8v.

Gilder's is the dealer in my local area, and even though I live close to the Sheffield branch, I use the one in Rotherham. The guy there looks like he's been there for years, and knows his stuff - even about the older dubs. He doesn't mind me helping him locate the exact part on ETKA if I don't have a part number.

I've had mixed experiences with GSF - the local depot is always overworked, but the guys there seem okay. I don't mind getting some parts from there, but don't trust any trim pieces or electrical parts.
