Dealer just called me to say my april build slot has been moved to the end of september as they are having problems sourcing enough DSG boxes  :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

Cancelled the order.

The Audi dealer has an A3 S-Line 170 S-tronic waiting on the boat and will be mine in 2 weeks.

So its goodbye golf and hello Audi.

I thought the germans were good at the manufacturing stuff, perhaps they took on the ex-british leyland staff without anyone knowing  :evil:

I would be happy with the A3 170bhp its a very nice car , enjoy  :cool:

Crap news that :(

The Audis are nice (still a smelly derv but nevermind ;)  :evil: )

You can get some cracking deal on the A3 now as the new one is coming out end of this year / early next year. Chap who lives opposite me has just bought a new MY10 1.8T A3 and said Audi did him a shocking deal for it.

faster than the golf as well. 7.6 0-62 for the audi 8.1 for the golf. Also the golf is lighter.

That makes no sense, how can the Golf be lighter yet slower with the exact same engine . . . . (Im assuming your compareing this to the 170PD engined Golf)

comparing the 170 DSG golf against the 170 S-Tronic audi. No idea why the golf is slower.

But comparing the petrol models the golf gti is a heck of a lot slower at 6.9 compared to 5.6 for the A3 Quattro. In fairness though the A3 squeezes a lot more power from the engine.

Not feeling so bad about cancelling the order now.
