what should i do?

morning guys

my car needs new rear shocks as they have given up the ghost and caused my rear tyres to wear out of shape and I need some help deciding what to do as she's already cost me an arm and a leg this month. tax, insurance renewal and new exhaust middle section.

Should I get a local garage just to fit new standard shocks.

Do i buy uprated shocks for the rear and do the fronts another month and then lowering spring later as well.

Or do i buy some reasonably cheap coilovers and try and hope I can find someone to fit them for a small fee.

I wasn't really looking to lower the car but would like improved handling and if i've got to replace half the suspension set-up anyway it would probably work out cheaper to buy coilies.

personally i wouldnt touch coillies on a budget, they'll be sh!t and you'll be a few inches shorter in only a few months
go out and buy some reasonabley priced shocks/springs and you'll get lowness/half decent ride and no bank loan for what your after!

Do it once and do it right, cheap coilovers are not worth the hassle.

the jamex ones (coilovers) i can say are pretty decent, iv had mine on 3 years and about 35k miles with nothing but good words to say, they are not expensive, pretty firm ride tho, and if you were not looking to lower your car anyhow, id prob say to you to get uprated shox/springs over the collies mate

you will need top mounts too, forget crap from places like euro car parts, get genuine, add this to your costings....
