more than the quality of their work is worth....

find a reputable local garage
1983 mk1, 2.0, TSR pack C head, Eaton M45 - work in progress
1990 mk2 GTD, boost, fuel, soot
16v GTi mk3; chilli red, 16" Audi Speedlines, coilies
1934 Ford Dragster, 200mph in 6 seconds.

Took mine in to get the exhaust looked at (simply because they're close and have a ramp....I couldn't be arsed wriggling around under the car ), they told me I needed a new downpipe!

When I got home and did get under the car myself, turned out it was just the heat shield loose! Anyone with even an ounce of knowledge would know that when looking at it! He was blatently just trying to fleece me!

2 Jubilee clips later, problem solved  :smug:

As above..I've never used Kwit Fit again after my experience many years ago..
Actually i was in STS today having a new pancake exhaust section fitted, totally different..the layout is friendly, the staff are normal and helpful (not one shifty tosser in sight) and you leave feeling normal!  not feeling like they'll be laughing down the pub later at what they've done to the underside of your car..Maybe they've changed now i don't know.

Cam belt and tensioner fitted i've seen prices of around £75 floating about but that may not be VW..just make sure who does the work is known or recommended at least..

You could order the discs and pads from GSF and get a good chap to fit them if your not up to doing it yourself..It's not a major job to fit discs/pads..so that way it'll be reasonable price wise and peace of mind..

I hate Kwik fit, have seen them fleece a few friends by saying they needed extra work etc.
