Alloy Scratch - Monza II's
« on: 12 April 2010, 19:00 »
I've got a very light scratch (possibly a stone hitting it or whatever) on one of my Monza alloy's, its nothing to major and very light but when the rest of the alloy is perfect it sorta stands out. Because its not right down to the metal of the alloy and its just a scratch on the laquer, whats the easiest way to get it out ?

GTI mk6, 3dr Manual (Yes Manual! If I wanted a Taxi I'd hail one, not spend £1500 on one), Candy White, Full Leather, Xenons, ACC, 18", RCD510 + Dynaudio, DAB Radio, Winter Pack, Luxury Pack, Fiscon Bluetooth Plus, Golf R LED's.

pics help in this situ but you could probably correct it with a machine polisher if you had one and knew how to use it!

What ever you dont pay to get it referbed as its just going to happen again in a few weeks / month, your better off building up the damage so to speak and getting them done at a later date.

When I first got my car I got a small tiny chip on windscreen "Well, Im not having that, this is my nice lovely new car". Forked out £80 or whatever it was to have the windscreen replaced, 2 weeks later got another chip. That small tiny chip is still there now and has just been made safe. Wear a tear on a car is a horrible thing :(

Alan, good idea although this is bugging me.

I'll get a pic later tonight and post it up.

Guy, I should be the owner of a shiney new machine polisher soon
