You could put the stg1 seat in the front and get the missus in the back? If you're talking booster seats rather than childs car seats then you should be OK.

The problem comes when you need to go away and the boot won't be big enough!

Buy the missus a 'KA' and enjoy the GTI!

The GTD is like a blow up doll. The GTI is like a proper woman. Sure the doll might last longer, and the woman might have higher running costs, but which would you rather have?

Sell one of the kids to fund mods for the GTI

One problem I don't have is fitting in kids, but I have seen a few with 2 seats in the rear, but never 3. There are only 4 isofix points in the rear, but another one in the front. Only way around it would be 2 kids and mom in the back and the other kiddie in the front.

Your newborn will need a Stage 0 seat to begin with, not a Stage 1. You'd probably manage with a non-Isofix seat and two booster seats, but it will be tight, especially if you're safety conscious and go for a decent car seat with good side impact protection etc. Our son uses a Stage 1 Maxi-Cosi PrioriFix seat and it renders the middle seat useless to be honest.

If I was you I'd do a bit of forward planning and take your car to somewhere that will let you try the seats first.

No kids myself but I've had 2 boosters and a stage 1 in the back of my Golf several times with nieces and nephews.

Just tell the lil darlin's not to kick the back of your seat. Grrrr

Hope that helps

It wont work.
The baby will need to start in a rear facing car seat, and then move on to a front facing car seat with the 5 point belt, before moving to a booster - so you are looking at 2-4 years at least until you move to a third booster.
These baby car seats take up a little more space then a booster seat. You wont be able to get the baby seat in, alongside 2 booster seats - unless you really shift them along so the edges of the car seats are touching the doors!

Safety first mate. I would just get a bigger car if I were you. Your family is the most important thing, and their safety comes first. Dont risk it by trying to make car seats fit in where they arent supposed to
