alright chaps,
i've been thinking about modifiying the standard airbox a bit, i've already smoothed the inside off, bar the sections on the inside of the lid that run towards the maf to try and promote rifling of the air (am i looking into this too much or am i just nuts?) just need to finish it off properly, thing is i got to thinking, what else could i do. and i just wanted to bounce some ideas off you lot so you can shoot some holes in my ideas. some are daft some might work, never know but any good ideas welcome
drilling the airbox, done this on previous cars, never really noticed a gain. what about fitting a secondary intake to the airbox? say run some ducting from the passenger side bumper grill (which i've opened up) to the airbox a la dsg, this has been covered before i think as a the single intake instead of the dsg mod. i was thinking of having it feed the bottom of the airbox as a secondary air feed, i'm thinking the bottom of the airbox to try and keep it hidden from view, but am thinking there would be issues with the gear selector if i used decent guage ducting. what about a pancake section like on the intercoolerto get past the gear selector? i was thinking of using thicker guage ducting to replace the standard air intake or going dsg, also but the ducting is cheaper and i'm a pikey

or i was wondering about moving the battery to the boot and making a airbox to go where the battery was? would extending the hosing between the airbox and the maf cause any issues? again i'm just daydreaming too much hassel for me but
also does the 3inch maf's fit aftermarket tips? i got an ebay pov spec jobber and was thinking if i ever need to replace my maf i might as well get a 3 inch one. would it cause running problems on a non remapped agu?
