I've got a Sachs clutch and an LUK flywheel.  Done 30K so far.........

indeed but I've still mixed and matched different brands so can't see why people say to fit the same brand clutch and flywheel 

didnt you have a flywheel sent to you which didnt fit keith watkins told me you have to get the correct clutch to match the flywheel

that was an epic fail on behalf of buypartsbuy.co.uk who I would never purchase from ever again    Garage I used for the fitting sourced me an LUK one locally

A flywheel is a flywheel regardless of manufacture - bit like an oil filter - they all do the same job

not a must as it depends on the condition of it but to be honest its worth doing whilst you got everything apart as you'll have to fork out for labour again should it go soon after

Its also a false economy fitting a standard clutch if you're planning to upgrade in a few months time

also could me having my breaks bled wrong cuase a lack of fluid or in the the clutch system ? prob a stupid question  but hey dont ask you dont know

Don't put transmech sh!te in your car dude, google it.

I've had a single mass flywheel and clutch conversion done on mine recently... now it's bedded in it's ok but it aint as nice as a dual mass setup IMO.

I was gonna get the transmech kit for like 150 quid but heard many bad things when I looked into it. Transmech in general seem crap, clutch failures on loads of cars not just VW.

Ended up with a Valeo kit in the end for 218 from euro car parts, cost £310 all in fitted with labour etc.

285lbs ft torque or thereabouts

Basically it will cope but it will wear out far quicker so instead of say 60K miles you'll probably only get 30-40K but again a lot of it depends on your driving style

Planting your foot whilst in 5th gear at 40mph will do it no favours at all
