Midline Display - auto lock doors?
« on: 02 April 2010, 15:16 »
My mate has recently bought a MK5 R32... and has a midline display.
I got a VagCom the other day, and he's asked me if I can set his doors to autolock / unlock.

Do you NEED the VagCom to do this, or can you still do it with the midline?
If I do need to VagCom it, how do I do it?  I'm only had the VagCom for a week and haven't really had a chance to play with it!

Cheers...

If he's got the display showing the doors open its the highline display and should be able to change the settings via that.

I'm well aware that the highline display lets you change the settings, but his car has the midline display - where half of it is missing.

I want to know if you can still change the settings on the midline - or whether I need to VagCom it?

I don't think it's possible, although to be honest i never really tried on mine because it's so simple with vcds. Just use the long coding helper in the CCM and it's as easy as ticking boxes.

Thanks... I didn't think you could do it with Midline, but I wanted to check first.
CCM - Central Control Module?
If it appears in the Long Coding Helper then I should manage to figure it out.

I've also got an R32 aluminum foot rest to fit for him whilst I'm there!

I have midline and you can't do anything with it. It has a trip computer and that's it. You need highline or vagcom to do anything. If you have midline, you need vagcom.

It worked a treat with the Vagcom, and discovered a fault with his Alarm Horn.
The footrest from Gulfstream11 fitted great, and went down very well.

Thanks for the help  :nerd:
