problem with mk4 golf 20v non turbo

hi guys got a problem with my golf seems to be like its got a flat spot in 3rd when i hit about 3k on the revs just goes dead then kicks in again and is doing next to nothing on fuel eitherwonder if any one had any advice for cheers gordon

Faulty MAF.

hi mate no havent got any codes just being looking at new maf sensor they range from anywhere from 30 quid to 250 according to ebay do i really want a bosch one of getting one from  the steelers

When you say you havent got any fault codes - have you scanned it?

DONT buy a cheap MAF whatever you do!!

cheers rich i havent scanned but just checked the link you posted and that sound exactley like mine all thoses problems so i will be better of going to the dealers you reckon to get a new one cheers gordon

nice one rich cheers will this erase the codes from the cars memory aswell mate or will i need a sperate device fro this cheers gordon
