turbo problem??

i got a aum, had a revo map about 3 months ago aint had a problem, been perfect. was driving home last night, drove about 3 miles fine, got on a duel caariageway an a sh!tty c2 tried to race me lol so anyway i was in 5th doin about 60 so i put my foot down an was waiting for the 3000rev boost to come an it didn.....then the cel light was just flashin an the car shuddered but the cel light didn stay on just flashed about 9 times. pulled over to check, sounded sweet, reved up fine passed 3000, no cel light, job done. pulled off, drove fine, smooth as u like, as soon as u put ur foot down an it reaches 3000revs where the boost really starts to come in it just like shudders and doesn really go anywhere, not really an audible shudder but i can feel the car shake an nothing happens. not right, i know!!!lol so i just nursed it home, got it up on the axle stands just now an have had a look at everything an took all the airbox off an dv an got underneath to look at the turbo an all looks fine. any ideas? cheers

first off ideally would be to get it on vag-com and check for any fault codes

not thinkin its a turbo problem anymore, its just got worse and it even juddering on tick over and wont rev for sh!te. ive always noticed a weird noise from my fuel pump when its low, kinda like a scratchin noise every 4-5 seconds. the car seems like its hunting but it aint missing so im thinking some sort of fuel problem?

Coil pack?

As has already been said, as the light came on chances are its logged a fault code which will point you in the right direction as to were the problem is.

true. im gonna have to pop down my local tuning place tomorrow if a can friggin get it there. it could actually be the coil pack rhyso, i remember when it went on my last car. u can tell when the coil pack goes tho, its even sounds different, subaru style lol but it doesnt sound bad, hope its summin simple. the boys will sort it. maybe just a crank sensor or something!?

Coil pack?

Yep. Pull the plug to each coil at a time with the engine idling and replace the one that doesn't make the engine any rougher when removed. Use a gen VW one. You might find that when you take the engine cover one of the coils has popped up and just needs pushing back down (a sign that the spark plug needs to come out, thread cleaned and screwed back in tight).

If all four of the coils seem fine then pull the plug on the maf at idle to see if it the revs settle. Do the coils first though - no need to go leaving maf fault codes in your ecu if not needed.

yesterday i took it all apart an still no difference, ive heard about them poppin up so i pushed them all back down anyway and ive had a new maf just before christmas coz i had an induction kit which screwed it up so i replaced it with a genuine vw (£80) had a full service like 4 months ago too where i had all new spark plugs and everything checked. are we sayin then its the coil pack because the plugs are fine and the bits that click on top are pushed down fine and the maf is new?

did you try unplugging one at a time with the engine running?

if it was turbo i'd have thought you'd see plenty of smoke
