if i was to get a set of brembos (porsch 996 rears) is it possible to  get them powdercoated???

 

wud i have to take the pistons out just wonderin how do i prevent sand getting  in them. does anyone have a link to the right seal kit on the net and also 2 high temperature decals in white, cheers

it is possible to get them powdercoated yes and the pistons would need removing to yes

doing this yourself is tricky but if you are carefull you can do it m8 ring porsche dealer and get the seals and carefully remove the old seals and pistons also remove the bleed nipples ends and you might need to remove the bar that runs from one side to the other with the rubber bit on as not sure this will take the heat when powdercoated all parts can be bought from dealer for about £70 if you need new shimms they are around £8-10 per set.

make sure you cover the holes where the pistons go and the bleed ends at each end as you dont want paint in there.

i can get the seal kit for 25 quid and get them powdercoated and lacquered for 20 quid i was just wondering do i need to give it to them stripped down or just mask things up?

Can't "Mask" up, They sandblast it, it blasts hardened paint off metal, the tape will be long gone.

i had mine shot blasted i just put a srew in each end on the blled ends as you can see on the pic in the posts above and but the strongest black gaffa tape on the bistons and made sure it was well stuck down around them and it worked fine if they know how to blast properly they will be able to be carefull around the tape.

one thing the glue sticks pretty bad after shot blasted as it gets hot so you will have to remove glue with brake and clutch clean its about 9 for 5liters from your local automotive shop.
