GTI Seat raiser inserts - my take (a few pics)
« on: 28 March 2010, 11:36 »
Well, I found a set of nice "GTI" inserts on here - thanks to Makaveli

As soon as they arrived, I set to installing them - went a bit nerdy on them tbh, but I pretty happy with the results.

Cleaned up the housing first - despite my keeping the car UBER clean, it's amazing how bad this gets.....

I'd already cleaned up the metal inserts.

I didn't want to go with the red duct tape or resin option..... so I did this instead....

Yes, I know the car seats need a vacuum

But I'm quite happy with the results - pretty subtle I think

Any comments?

Dan

Nice, but I still think the red tape looks better

My fear with the red tape is that over time, it does fade.

But ETTO

I used red card covered in clear tape - that way its pretty waterproof as well just in case any rain gets in it, and the red looks shiny.....

In all fairness, I looked at the red tape, and thought that that was what everybody else was doing    so went for summit different.

All it is is some carbon fiber sheet put underneath the insert.

Like I said, subtle

Not everybody's going to like it (which is good) - they certainly don't "get it"  or like it on mk5golfgti.com

Result.
