Maguiors G220 v Das Dual Action Polisher
« on: 28 March 2010, 11:06 »
Anyone got experience with these machines. Maguiors is about 180 pounds while the Das 6 comes in at 80 pounds.
For use on the GTI and an 18ft grp boat, which do you think would serve the needs better.
The thought of putting a couple of coats of Glare followed by a coat of wax by hand on the car depresses me. I mean I'm 52 now . I will also have to polish up the boat before it goes in the water in May so I'm sure having a polisher would make light work of doing both. I also like to wax the car on a regular basis. On that do you think putting a sealer on the car would be worth while.

Thanks for any advice in advance

yes applying sealant to a car is always a benefit, it protects the paint from contaminants,UV damage etc.
fk1000p hi temp sealant is very good, jetseal109 is again very good, both worth considering, jetseal being the easier one of the two to apply and remove

for your boat look into the Gtechniq range  or the jetseal or fk1000p are both very good for boats.

ive got a rotory so dont take much notice of the DA machines but the g220 and the das 6 are basically the same but i think the DAS6 is the newer model your just paying more because g220 has megs stickers on it(someone correct me if im wrong on this)

Kestrel now have a pro version of the das-6 thats available from cleanyourcar. Its priced between the g220 and the normal das-6.

I ordered one over the weekend. Planning to use it this coming weekend, so I will let you know what I think.

how do you remove it out of interest?  It would seem that from the instructions you form an inpenatrable barrier for ever....?

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

remove completly or remove after its been cured??
to remove it completly just wash the car in tfr(strong mixture) then clay the car and this will remove everything and you can start again

removal after application, let it haze over and buff off excess with a microfibre. simples
