Front Grille 'Mod' Time...update 02/04.Its Finished & Now Fitted!!(pics page6&7)

Looks good so far, but why are you filling all the gaps along the top up? Surely that bit will be hidden by the bonnet anyway?

really because i wanted it to flow with the shape of the original retainer i realised the tops mostly hidden but well me being me  alittle bit more work invoved but well worth it

right well this morning looked as tho the weather was going to hold out for me to be able to get the filler applied yesterday all sanded down and shaped/levelled up etc all thats finished and then i have smoothed down with very wet 600 grade wet & dry to prepare for the primer all the dust has been washed out and just letting it dry until the morning and hopefully tack the part off to get rid of any dust and hoping to get it primed 
so finally after a good couple of hours this morning its now ready for primer/paint

cheers i can't now looking forward to the next bit with the primer/painting as its downhill now and nearly complete and it will start to look like a grille  just the 'gti' badge to remove from the old one and get that on once the laquer drys
will be inside from now for primer/paint so weathers not gona be an issue so hoping for finish around friday/sat

Well nearly getting there now  finally its time to get down to painting so after tacking the grille off earlier got all set up to start putting some primer on two coats on the rear and the front has had 4 coats so leaving it to dry off until the morning and then its going black
and now primered.......

took half a shift off work earlier so came home rubbed the primer down with very wet 1200 washed dried off and then a final coat of primer once dry onto 4 coats of satin black which i finished about 15 mins ago  2 coats of laquer to apply later on this morning and finished  just the 'gti' badge to remove from the old grille and put onto this one and fit
