Nop 'cause it's a 16v manifold, I think the exhaust manifold on an 8v is higher up than on the 16v

NO NO NO!
I've seen some butchered jobs with down pipes
Mild steel is much better for a 8V they can take vibration tollarence much better than stainless it can crack due to the stainless steel its your choice, but steel for down pipes is much better IMO.

if i was in the market for a manifold, i would pay very good money for a 4 branch made of the same stuff the longlife factory downpipes are made off.

it ain't stainless as it will rust, but it's defantly not keen on rusting and hell is it tough stuff
all the VW's have gone bar 1.

Guys, My GTI has a manifold that goes from 4 pipes into 2 (Cant see how and i've not really looked) however it goes from the down pipe to just before the centre silencer as 2 pipes then joins to one and then goes into the centre silencer, is this a standard manifold?
