Quick horn question!

Right guys one of my MOT failures was lack of horn 

seeing as the current steering wheel boss has no horn button, this could be why 

i've bought a new boss kit with horn button, and was wondering... is there only one feed to the horn button? i.e. through the tab on the stalks to the back of the boss? obviously i have no original wheel to check.

if theres more than one feed, then im missing a wire somewhere!

forgot to mention i have an aftermarket wheel hence the use of a boss kit

There should be two spade connectors, to complete the circuit.

so lets say if i was to remove an OE wheel, i would find two connectors coming from the steering column somewhere? in addition to the metal tab on the stalks?

if so, then the wiring has gone missing somewhere!

On my 1990, I have two wires with spade connectors that fix on two plates, when the two plates touch it gets completes. The wires come through the steering column on mine.

erm ok...

looking at this pic the only way the horn push button connects is via the tab on the stalks, i.e. theres no seperate wiring from the column into the wheel:



i appreciate there are two connectors inside the wheel itself

Yours is a pre 90 spec I think, may be someone else can help.

thats a pic from my old small bumper project but i hope (really hope) that the vr6 conversion i have, which is post 90, is meant to be the same... otherwise i have wiring thats gone walkabouts... and i really dont want to be tracking those wires down, its like spaghetti junction behind the dash at the moment 

i havent got my new boss kit yet and its getting closer to MOT retest time!

some horn push only have the 1 spoade, and earth thru a metal contact on the side to the body of the wheel boss. mine is like this

Yer thats why i need to replace my entire stalk soon cos of that wangy setup
