Hey Kev

Yeah im loving it. Its got nearly 13000 miles on it already and only got it in August!! Need to get new tyres already as thats them nakered!

As i do a lot of driving on country roads everyday i get the pleasure of red lining it in second and third all the time and thats when she sounds best.

I thought about getting it remapped but i have never bothered as i have enough points as it is. She is pretty fast and i always use the v power plus which helps. Tramped round every station the other day and everyone was out of super so i used regular for the first time and you definately notice it slower.

She is always a flithy b!tch though as i have not been able to wash the car at home since December as we have snow. It is just about gone now so this will be the first weekend since the 12December that we have not had snow. I refuse to take it to a car wash and cant get her to the hand wash places often. Hopefully now she can get back to her weekly wash at the weekends and look lovely white again!

Hows your GTI?

Sounds good and I'm jealous of those roads you got up there.  I've not seriously thought about remapping, although I should try and build a remap myself as the guys in here say its easy to do stuff on your own with no training or experience or anyone to show you, all you have to do is learn yourself. Anywho, I just used standard 95ron and will do till these friggin petrol prices get a grip then will try something better to see if I can feel the difference. As for being dirty, tell me about it, I give her a good once over and after a 10 min drive shes manky again, roll on the good weather eh ? Your right about the lovely white, its a work of art when the GTI is all gleaming. I'm enjoying mine no end, just putting some finishing touches to it, i.e. rear LED lights, adding bluetooth shortly, a footrest, mats, door sills, and still contemplating an RNS510. After all that she'll be ready to turn the heads in the summer

The roads we have up here are absolutely dreadful!!  I can barely drive 5 miles to work every day without losing my wheel in a pot hole!!  I guess its pretty much the same everywhere in the UK just now though.  Glad I have my Golf Plus at the moment with its 16" wheels and big tyres... it doesn't feel them!  2 weeks and I'll have on rubber band 35 profile tyres though - eeek!
Golf R... 3 door, DSG, Leather, Reflex Silver, Black 19" Talladega Wheels, ACC, Parking Sensors, RNS510 with Dynaudio, Reverse Camera, Luxury Pack, Cruise Control & Fiscon Bluetooth.

Just a quick one nearly off-topic...

Will an Ipod Classic (120Gig) work with the RNS510 connected to this MDI cable....or is the RNS510 internal memory not enough...anyone tried...

You mean will the ipod work through it using the mdi cable ? then yeah no probs, it will just play whats on your ipod through your speakers as normal, it wont go through any internal memory.

Okay that makes sense  ...so no matter how many gigs....it just reads whats on the Ipod.
This is contrary to the SD card since they must not exceed the 2 Gig...in order to be read...I found that confusing...
So far I have read in the manual that the RNS510 only does MP3...so no lossless (unless cd's ofcourse)
