18 is the x-over relay, which turns off non-essential eectrical items when car cranking over. the coolant relay above the fusebox is #42 or 43, but all it does is control the coolant level warning light, if you just pull the relay it'll disable that function but the temp gauge will work as normal.

update ive took the earth of the rocker cover and cleand up both ends with sandpaper also the brown wires goin on to the battery and guess what ive been drivein it for 20mins and the temp has ranged from just under half to just over also i parkd up to let it get hot to test the fan and it now cums on at 3/4 and brings the temp down to not much over half as soon as i drive back to the middle again and if i can speed up just under the half way mark!what do ya think fixd?
