right runing car today and when drivein its just over half when stopd it gets over 3/4 near to max and fan kicks in then of and then in iam getin the oil light flash every now and again also my horn was dead and ive just got one of a mk2 but when i press it the coolent light will flash and thats every time i press the horn!clocks mayb?

I'm starting to wonder if your car is overheating at all?? sounds like you have a couple of electrical problems and your temp gauge is not reading correctly... also those clocks shown look like they are from a MK2... I could be mistaken.  If they are then they will not be plug and play, even if they were you're car may not be wired for MFA anyway.

ur not the only one if i take the cap of the water bottle when the car reads 3/4 i can put my finger in there and its hot but not  mega hot?

  Heres a thought then, test the water temp with a thermometer, something like this or cheaper that can cope with boiling water http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Multi-function-thermometer_W0QQitemZ190362525307QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Kitchen_Accessories?hash=item2c527d9e7b  you'll see then how hot she really is.  with the extra info youve given its looking like minor electrical problems and most likely bad earths.. I'm currently rewiring my car, one fault being all guages read max all the time! (that doesnt justify the rewire, there were other reasons too if you see my project page.  My first suggestion to you now then is to check all the earthing points in your car and make sure that they are clean and rust free, also make sure that there are no solid brown wires anywhere in the car that are not connected.

have already done all earths on car twice!lol what number is the coolent temp relay?think is number 18?could this be at fault?i will check temp like that good idea also anybody got a pic of there engine to check my earths i no the one on the gearbox and the one on the right hand side of the rocker?

thats correct, temp relay is 18, top right of the box.... it could be that.  has your car got a lot of additional wiring above standard?

yeah its pretty messy and the relays are not clipd on to the top of the fuse box thay are hangin around lose how will i no which one it is?

you might wanna address the hanging relays, not good for the connections.... cant you just slide them back on to the box where they should be... dont know off the top of my head the relays white marker number but if its hanging loose, its the one with the following wires on the back:
