Scirocco R test drive
« on: 21 March 2010, 11:26 »
I know this is a GOLF forum, but yesterday I took a Scirocco R out for a spin... and posted my thoughts here:

If the work Scirocco offends you, then don't click the link

Good review, I'll bet the receptionist had a great time

Interesting comment about the Golf being more practical. My mate sold a Golf V to get a Scirocco GT and he was lamenting the other night in the pub about how he misses his Golf. His wife has the Scirocco on a 3yr lease and intends going back to a Golf when it's up

Nice review. Scirocco R should be quicker as its lighter  Now if they would just make the Golf GTIR with the scirocco mecanicals/updated version of EA888

I wonder if Nissan copyrighted the GTIR badge? :undecided:

That's a very nice review. Nice to be able to read a little into what this line of R machines are like to live with.
You seem to have an excellent relationship with your dealer. I doubt I would be able to fudge a test drive in a car like that, AND with a receptionist who didn't want to go back to work.  :undecided:

Whilst queuing in the traffic she was asking me what the R badges were for and what was special about this car.  I think at this moment she twigged.
I guess that could be a plus or a negative.

As some of you might have read, I came out of a Scirocco 2.0GT into the GTI and in my opinion the Golf is a much better car. I'm even bored with the look of the roc now.

p3eps can I ask where your local dealer is? If you would rather PM.
Only asking cos I thought you were round about Glasgow and I don't recognise the garage.
