Lowering Springs - Dumb Question But I'm gonna ask it anyway

A Dumb Question But I'm goona ask it anyway...

I am thinking about fitting a set of Eibach lowered springs to my 1992 8V GTi which is running on OEM-stock springs and Shocks...

Can I get away with just fitting new lower springs or do I have to change everything....

Do I need any special tools to do it and is this something a novice should be tackling??

depends how low you wanna go mate, nothing specialist but you may want to get hold of an impact wrench cos those ye'olde bolts will be welded on an f**king impossible to remove a bit tight...

you'll need spring compressors as the current springs will be under tension, trying to remove them without putting compressors on first may result in injury! also bear in mind the shocks will need to come off, which means the camber will need to be adjusted on the front after refitting.

Well worth fitting new shocks, top mounts and bump stops.
