Well, not in my book it ain't: modding is all about making very slight and subtle changes to your car to give it the 'OEM plus' look. Trying to make your car look like a Porsche only makes you look cheap and/or common for not saving up and buying the Porsche in the first place. But, hey, each to his own, I guess - if this is what floats his boat, I say let him do it

That's your idea of modding but modding is just changing the car to something you like so it can be as subtle or in your face as you like.

I imagine the Ford Model A geeks hate what this guys do, but me? I love what people do in their garages to put their mark on their car. Sure some modded cars turn out looking dreadful, but some come out awesome. You gotta take the rough with the smooth and I reckon this MK6 has potential to be a bit special if it all comes together, but it could also end in total fail.

I see where you're coming from and - in theory - you're right. However, some mods are right and others are just, well... wrong.

Indeed, it could be argued that the whole point of a discussion forum is to reach a consensus on what looks good and what doesn't.

Below is BarryBoy's Shed of The Year 2009. I would suggest that most people would say it is wrong, it did win the award after all, but obviously the owner thinks it looks superb.
