Hood repairs - possible ?
« on: 08 November 2004, 13:45 »
My cabby hood has a small tear in the seam at the edge, above the front passenger seat.

Is it possible to repair or hide this in any way ? , any method employed would have to be very strong.
There are also a couple of very small rips on the flat surfaces around the rear window, I was thinking about syringing some silicon sealant into these and smoothing it off ?

What d'ya think, is there a better, more common way to address these faults, I have seen a lot of hoods with exactly the same damage, so it must be something people try to sort.

Shame I can't afford a new hood.

Halfords do a hood repair kit. I dont know anyone who has used them, but it's got to be worth a shot, compared to a few hundred quid for a new roof!
I don't own this anymore - I just can't be arsed to change the picture
