What should I do?
« on: 14 March 2010, 18:22 »
Just wanna hear what you guys think on this. I should get some money in the next few weeks and wondering whether to get tyres for my 16" alloys and lower the car or get tyres and get rear anni valance? I could stick with my current standard alloys and get springs and valance and possibly the sharan badge and aero wiper. Will probably have £400 to spend could be more could be less. Just wanna prioritise stuff cos there is so much I wanna get.  :grin:

tyres = £250ish
Springs = £130-150ish
Rear valance = £130
Sharan badge and wiper £45

I'm leaning towards the springs and tyres as I feel they'll make the bigger change to how the car looks.

if you got to change your tyres as your ones are near the limit (dont know if they are) then id go that route...you go off the road there wont be any modding being done... :rolleyes:

If Jesus Christ owned a rolling road and it was calibrated and tested by the three wise men you'd still get some jerk asking you to back up your figures, that's t'internet for ya

I got a free set of 16" alloys but they came without tyres. I don't wanna keep them too long as I ideally want some RC's so I don't want to spend a great deal on tyres. Thinking it may be better me maybe moving the alloys on and using that money to get the wheels I really want. Not to keen on coilovers as they are tad expensive and I want to keep the ride fairly comfortable as it is still a "family"  :wink: car.

think youve almost come to your own conclusion....

shift the alloys-put towards the new bits fund...see how much you got to play with then...

Tyres to keep yourself on the road (legally and physically) and also get the suspension work done.  Get the expensive stuff done now and save the other incidental bits for later.
