Right, had a chum look over the Golf today....we have discoveries.... so i need to replace the following items....

Front Discs and Pads
Rear Discs and Pads
OSR Caliper
Front ARB's
Rear subframe bushes

Now as im planning on putting a fair amount of power in this car id like to upgrade things as they need replacing. So do you guys have any suggestions on parts you've used or heard good reports of? and also any other bits that perhaps it would make sense to replace at the same time. Not working to a particulary strict budget but lets not be silly buggers about this!

The aim of the game is to keep the car looking as standard as possible and be a nice sleeper. so wheels an ting will remain.

Oh yeah, and.....the wipers are f**ked, in the off position they do about 5 or 6 sweeps then stop at random places accross the screen, any ideas? relay? motor? random possesion?

Cheers mk4 dudes! remember IM ONE OF YOU NOW

EBC redstuff pads seem to be popular at the moment along with the discs

If you're replacing may as well upgrade to 312mm's (fronts)

256mm rears from an Octavia VRS MK1

Eibach or Whiteline for arb's - get front and back (back gives the most noticeable improvement)

Fabia VRS bushes

Job done

All direct bolt on replacements :afro:

Be careful with the rear calipers as if you get them off a 4mo or TT Quattro then you'll need 6mm spacers

Also you'll need 16inch wheels as a minimum for the 312mm brakes but if you have the 16 inch BBS RX2 wheels then the 312mm brakes won't fit due to clearance

Well my shopping lists been extended to new suspension to, my only dillema is whetherto go coilovers or shock/spring. I know coils, I like to go low an all that..... But, as I'm getting old I'm a lot more appreciative of a comfy shocks an springs set up, and with that, I wouldn't know where to start with brands/ranges an such.

Who here's running shocks an springs over coils?
