hella quad headlight HID conversion

i have fitted to my mk3 the hella quad headlights and wanted to to make them better at night so was thinkiing of making them HID.
anybody done this with these headlights?
how easy is it tom do a HID conversion?
any help welcome?

Golf MK3 1.8 auto and I didn't pay a grand for the "priveledge" :grin:, auto windows all round and a AC. Oh and I've got a luggage net you pricks!

Yes it's possible, obviously you are using you car off road only though and an H1 kit fits straight on it. Off road on your dads mates nans farm though, isn't it?

ah so by the answers so far i take it HID conversions are not street legal then? oh right i was not aware of this?
if thats the case maybe i wont do it then.
mite have to invest in some osram nightbreaker bulbs instaed.

so have i opened a an of worms? lol

i never new they was not street legal. i see so many people with them around my area i just asumed they was ok to use on the street.

and yes they are projectors i think but mine seem to be crap at night.

hold on a sec i have just been looking online and is it true that hid headlights are fine to use on the road if fitted in projector headlights? as they focus the beam more directly?

been stopped by the police with mine on and nothing was said and mine PASSED the mot with them aswell.

if its got pistons or tits, either way its gonna be expensive

then maybe i will get the kit then. need something my hella quads are not that good at night with the normal bulbs.
