How about you MK5 owners calling it a MK5.75 and most will be happy(ish)! :smiley:

I'm (almost) a Mk6 owner and I call it a Mk5.5 - it's the Mk5 with many of it's shortcomings ironed out. What it's not is an entirely new platform, which every previous Golf generation has been. When I first had a look around one I commented to the salesman that 'it should have been like this when they first brought out the Mk5'. The Mk5 is still a great car though and as a second hand buy it's an absolute bargain compared to a brand new Mk6.

No - these unresolved issues need to be addressed  :wink: - GTD/GTI, DSG/manual, Mk5/6, 17's or 18's, red or white??? How can we rest easy without knowing which is best?! :grin:
