Removing Wheel

Feel free to mock, point and laugh, but I tried to remove my n/s/r wheel last weekend and after jacking up the car and undoing the five nuts, it refused to budge...

Any top tips for getting the sucker off :: am I missing something?

I'm trying to get in to sand and spray my rusty hubs before summer and show season!

Rubber mallet applied with a swift blow onto the inside tyre wall. You'll have to lie on your back to get a decent swing.

do you know its best to put the jack on, jack it so it takes the weight, but so the wheel is not off ground, slightly loosen the nuts, then jack it up and undo nuts completely. you can just lightly kick the wheel, no need for a rubber hammer :-)

I had a similar issue with two of the wheels but I just rotated them round and round until they came off. Didn't need to kick them or anything.

First time I tried to get mine off, it was a rubber mallet for one of them. That was easy.....

The OSR did not want to budge, rubber mallet or not. In the end I had to leaver it off with a 8 foot piece of  2"x2"!!! :sick: :sick:

make sure it is more secure than just on the rubbish car jack.
If you end up having to give it decent kick or hit etc the car will move quite a bit on the jack.

I would hate to read your next post that you were trapped under the car
