Cheers for the comments guys!

I wasn't going to do anything on the wheel today but then my polishing mops and polish arrived and I couldn't resist! I sanded down the entire wheel with 240 grit paper in prep for the etch primer.
I then chose a small section of the lip and sanded it down with 400, then 800 then 1200 grit paper. Next I attacked it with all 3 polishing mops and different polishes and it was finished off with some autosol. It's only a small section but I wanted to make sure it was going to look ok before doing the whole wheel:
(It's about a 2" section to the right of the spoke in the middle of the pic)

I know the second pic is not in focus :embarassed:
But i'm impressed with the result, as I only used the big mops I didn't get right into the edge of the lip but it was only to test it really. Thoughts?

I'm beginning to wonder if I should just forget about the polished lip and just spray the whole wheel one colour, also how the hell do you guys suggest I tape up the lip? It's going to take me hours to make sure it's masked up properly!
