Ive had a few de-badge grills over the years and I dont think they look to bad tbh.Ive got a badged grill on mine which I prefer but I like yours dont think it looks bad at all.Theres only really so much you can do with a front end on a mk3 but the main thing is if your happy and like the look of it then leave it as it is car looks sweet

Looks like it's on then! I think i'm gonna whiz down to halfrauds now to get some lacquer, try and get it sprayed up tonight

Quick trip to Halfords for some paint/lacquer! Gonna mask it all up and rub down the red paint tonight (gotta take some stuff round to my g/f's this evening  )

I'll spray it tomorrow morning me thinks

Ok so a coat of primer, 3 coats of black and 2 coats of lacquer later we have a black grill:





It's not the best spray job i've ever done, but it'll do

Looks great man, almost thought your second pic was my Photoshop too lol! I think you need to get the GTI badge red now though, as the silver looks out of place.
