seems like a silly question this but im in the process of buying a gti ,the only thing is that it has no gti badge on the back tailgate.i have priced up the badge and its only a tenner but you dont get any templates or dimensions for correctly positioning the badge.hopefully someone out there will shed light on this one either with a tape measure .many thanks

the badge has lugs on it that when pressed to the lift handle will line it up in the correct position.

sorry dont know what you mean has the tailgate got holes in it for the lugs on the back of the badge to clip into  cheers

Is it from a dealer or private? If private, why debadged?
If dealer, get them to stick it on for free.

The GTI badge at the back is glued on - no tabs or anything. Either dan_apps is thinking of the front GTI badge or of the VW badges. There's proper dimension information somewhere. Will have a dig around for you.
