GTI Engineering RE200016V
« on: 08 March 2010, 21:27 »
Hi all. I may well have the chance to purchase a 1989 G reg Atlas Grey 16v. It has had the GTI Engineering RE200016V conversion. The car needs a bit of work, it runs but has no mot. It will also need a lot of cosmetic tidying, including having the roof painted. Its for sale at £1200. What do you reckon, sell my 1992 8v and go for it or not?

Those earlier GTI Engineering 2.0 conversions are really good, if it's been maintained properly.

If you don't, I will :p nah that sounds like a good deal to me, as far as I know (which isn't much tbh) they are worth more than that, seeing as standard 16vs are going for that, even if theyr not in very good nick. Its worth what you're willing to pay tbh mate

I had a 16v with the AMD conversion and it was great great fun - it was like driving a go kart . Much more responsive than other 16vs I had prior

Oh yes! It has big bumpers but not sure if they're genuine. I think it was a small bumper to begin with, the boot plinth isn't painted and it has the same door strips like yours Thom.

Worth a shot at that money, should have a plate on the slam panel reference the engine work.
